The Antenna Measurement Techniques Association was formed in 1979, and incorporated in the State of Georgia, March 10, 1989 as a non-profit professional organization, open to individuals with an interest in antenna measurements. Areas of interest include: measurement facilities, unique or innovative measurement techniques, test instrumentation and systems, RCS measurements, compact range design and evaluation, near-field techniques and their applications, and the practical aspects of measurement problems and their solutions. Members come from a variety of backgrounds, including industry, government, and educational institutions, and from many countries in the world. Membership has steadily grown from 30 in 1979 to about 400 members.

Antenna Measurement Technique AssociationThe primary activity of AMTA is the annual symposium which includes a business meeting. The symposium is generally 4 to 4.5 days long, usually held in October of each year. Tours of local measurement facilities are arranged and are generally conducted the last day of the symposium. Each year approximately 70 to 100 papers are presented and distributed before the meeting in a bound proceedings. At these meetings, vendors show their latest in hardware, systems, and/or capabilities.

Besides the annual symposium, workshops on measurements are often held in conjunction with the summer IEEE-APS annual meeting.  Past workshops have included Near Field Techniques, RCS, Compact Ranges, Anechoic Chambers, Imaging, Phased Arrays, and Range Characterization.  You can buy Proceedings for many of these workshops, and for many of the annual symposia.
